Jason Jones Bio

Jason B. Jones is a nationally recognized forensic consultant, crime scene reconstructionist, and educator with over 25 years in law enforcement and more than a decade dedicated to teaching advanced forensic techniques. With a foundation built on thousands of hours of specialized training and years of hands-on investigative experience, Jason is known for his objective, science-driven approach to crime scene analysis..

A graduate of the 46th Session of the University of Tennessee’s National Forensic Academy, Jason holds advanced certifications in Crime Scene Investigation in both Tennessee and Georgia. His expertise is further supported by his status as a Force Science Analyst and his role as a certified instructor through the Georgia P.O.S.T. Council. Over his career, he has accumulated over 3,000 hours of formal training, including courses in bloodstain pattern analysis, shooting incident reconstruction, medicolegal death investigation, digital photography, latent print development, and homicide investigations.

Jason has spent more than a decade teaching advanced forensic disciplines to both new and seasoned professionals. He currently serves as a Training Specialist at the University of Tennessee’s Law Enforcement Innovation Center (LEIC),where he plays a central role in delivering instruction within the National Forensic Academy (NFA). In this role, Jason trains law enforcement professionals from across the country in crime scene investigation and investigative techniques. Prior to his work with LEIC, he coordinated forensic and coroner training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC), where he authored curricula and instructed in numerous forensic sub-disciplines.

In addition to teaching, Jason consults on complex and high-profile cases, offering unbiased forensic case reviews and expert analysis in homicide investigations, and violent crime scenes. He has been qualified as an expert in bloodstain pattern analysis in Tennessee courts and maintains active memberships in professional organizations such as the International Association for Identification, the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts, and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
